Veena is a London-based journalist, writer and editorial strategist for story-led brands.
Veena is a freelance writer and editorial strategist, helping ambitious entrepreneurs and story-led brands articulate their value through brand-building content and compelling storytelling. With previous journalism experience at Forbes in New York and The Business of Fashion in London, Veena writes about art, culture, wellness, and travel. She’s recently written for Artsy, Air Mail, and Thingtesting, among others.
By day, Veena leads communications and marketing at NewsGuard Technologies, which uses journalism and technology to combat misinformation and restore trust in the media. Prior to joining NewsGuard, Veena specialized in corporate communications for CEOs and consumer businesses at strategic communications firm FGS Global. There, she advised more than a dozen FTSE 100 and global clients on complex transactions, cross-border M&A, ESG strategy and reputation management.
She’s also worked in e-commerce at Sweaty Betty and marketing for a Yale alumni-run venture capital fund, and in 2020 founded a start-up of her own. She writes a periodic newsletter, sharing reflections and resources for young professionals seeking to exercise a greater sense of ownership over their lives.
Veena graduated from Yale University as a Journalism Scholar with a B.A. in English Literature. She is half-Thai and half-Irish, and spends most of her disposable income on croissants and plane tickets. Veena is available for freelance assignments, commissions or conversations.
